Assuming you have already covered the syllabus once during 11th and 12th

By July end - Mechanics, Calculus, Organic Chem
By Sept end - Electrostatics, Co-ordinate, Physical
By Nov end - all the remaining syllabus.

In any case, even though you may not stick accurately to the above break-up, you must try to finish the entire syllabus by the start of December. That will put you at a great advantage with respect to your fellow competitors. In no case should you let the First-stage-syllabus-coverage stretch after December.

Basically, work on the simple premise that you should give yourself 3 months for thorough revision and practice. Stick to this golden rule!!!

I dont mean to hijack your topic, prani.

I'm in a kinda similar situation.

Just entered the 12th. Enrolled in a decent-ish classroom course. The problem is that most of my 11th was purely wasted in terms of academics. Its not like "I know not a thing!", but JEE level problems are mostly still outta my reach.

Subject wise,
Physics: I suck.
But thats not the problem, its the classroom course. The physics teacher is awesome, but the guy is awfully slow.. From what I hear from my seniors, he'll start electromagnetism in December.. And optics in Feb! So in that case, should I give up on him, and start my own stuff now?

Math: Oh the agony..
Heh, love math and get the lowest scores there.. Suck in general at Algebra, good at differential calculus (thanks to locus ). Conflict: By the locus corr. I need to finish off calculus pretty soon, but the maths guy strictly wants me to do conics for now, and they'll cover the rest of calculus later. So what should I do?

Chem: Decent at it. And the teacher is VERY cool, so no problems here.

Guidance will be really appreciated.

P.S. Excuse the wall of text. This is what happens when you gimme a can of red bull at 4 in the morning

BTW, any tips on changing sleep schedules? I'm a pretty late bird (and been so for the last 3 years), but getting up for exams and classes at times like 8 in the morning is a royal pain..

Hi (royal) Neel!

Since you are already enrolled in a classroom course, you should try to stick to their plan as much as possible.

In Math, for example, if they are doing conics now, you should focus on that and do calculus afterwards. Doing two topics at a time will not be advantageous at the end of the day.

In Physics, the coverage definitely seems to be slow - so here you might have to work out a bit of your own schedule - just remember that you must finish all the syllabus by the year end. The new year is meant for revision and practice.

after what manan sir poted(i mean the first post in this topic)...i prepared a schedule and ther books too)...schedule is kinda tough but i have tooo much time and i really wanna get thru JEE..many ppl are saying the level of JEE is falling but can any1 assure me that JEE 2009 wont be as tough as the times when it was subjective..i have just broken down a big section of caculusinto small chapters like fucntions...limits...continuity...differntiation and made my plans till july end...same with the other 2 subjects...regarding the books im gonna follow is
phy:theory from SL arora...and locus ofcourse...but my mom is saying no at the moment for correspondance...but in 2-3 weeks time if she sees me study i'll surely convince her for locus correspondance...first i'll read locus theory...thern move to sl arora for a brush up...just imp point...then stright solve from HCV and DCpandey....after my portions are ova in december i'll try galaxy physics...and fiitjee...
i know its near impossible...but its just 2 books of solving...HCV and dc pandey...
chem...locus(theory)...OPtondon for physical(im doing physical first)...i think OP tondon is enuf...and fiitjee for revision in decmber...
maths...locus (theory)...then A das gupta(problems)...and TMH...
in decmber fiitjee

tough schedule
its obv a hard schedule but like i said i want IIT anyhow

Hi Prani,

Best of luck in what you've planned. With hard work, IIT isn't that tough a nut to crack.

For more help, we are always available.

Cheers
Manan
