An open pan P filled with water (density Dw) is placed on a vertical rod maintaining equilibrium. A block of density d is placed on one side of the pan as shown. Water depth is more than height of the block.

C] Equilibrium will not be maintained for all relations between d and dw
D]Equilibrium will be maintained in all cases

then body floats and the weight of the body is balanced by upthrust
d<=dw
then the body will be a part of water column & weight of the body is balanced by upthrust
d>dw
then weight exceeds upthrust of the body and there will be a net torque over the rod and the bodu looses equilbrium
