Ayn Rand was a philosopher of the 20th century. Her philosophy of Objectivism has found a widespread following throughout the world. The main premise of her philosophy is that the only virtue that man can practise is to live for himself, independent of anyone else. She divides mankind into two classes: one is the Prime Movers, or the Creators, due to whom mankind progresses. Scientists, artists, musicians, poets, architects, industrialists, inventors, people who create, who live for the love of what they create, for whom creation is the highest form of virtue, fall into this category. The other is that of the Second Handers: people who live off the Prime Movers, who preach that creation is a sin and the only virtue is altruism. |

This is the speech that the Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, gave at a gathering in Stanford University to graduating students. Very inspiring!
I am
honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest
universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this
is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell
you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.

YES! I CAN DO IT The first step (and remember, someone wise once said that the first step is the most importan step) in your preparation and your journey into one of the IITs is the belief in yourself that you have it in you to realise this dream. You will not reach far if you think getting into IIT is too tough for you and it is only the super-smart alien like geeks and nerds who manage to crack the exam. No! This is an absolute misperception. |
